Tribal hostingI've been wondering about hosting. I was present at the festival of Initiation where the Teca hosted and it was well received.
I think we are currently almost too few in number to host but I had an idea that we could attempt to get a number of the other tribal cultures in the world to help us host. We have much in common and it would be likely to bring us new allies and friends.
Do people think this is something worth perusing?
I'm willing to do the OOC organisation of it and a lot of the leg work. All it would require others to do would be help with cool stuff and props and so on if we're lucky.
If people are keen I'll see what others tribes think next festival.

Had a conversation with Leon earlier about us hosting again,
A formal unifcation of the tribes where we can properly come together no if and buts, and i heard the Dryads wanted to host+do mean things to leon
I think we were talking second event next year as gives loads of time
I am also happy to help with prep work too.
I was thinking that if we went for this public uninon we could set up an United nations summit. Give us a chance for some strong documented peace and trade agreements

Personally its a lot to do and without others we would have a lot of difficulty. I would also not want to host with any of the bugs but would consider helping out or partnering say the dryads.
I just dont think we have enough at present to host and if we joint hosted then we would really need to consider why we were hosting with others?

that makes sense
though have host with only 3 player and 2 suport charcters and at least when we can host we'll have some ideas so won't be as rushed when eventually happens

one which is a cooperative event between native peoples including the dryads might work

both Hunapha and dryads have expressed interest in hosting though no firm plans..
The hunapha to bring back the ball game
The dryads to raise the profile of eidolons who are tending to get dismissed as 'mortals with squiggles' rather than being shown true respect (as opposed to another random religious festival)....and bizarrely they wanted a Coronation for Ventis to help support the Onontakha..

The Hunahpa have had plenty of discussion about it, but no set plans yet. Wouldn't be doing so until next year, regardless. That said, there are ball game plans for next event. The game, and variations on it, can be held regardless of host!
Worth bringing the idea up IC at an event, however.

I do think doing the uninon of the tribes is worth hosting over,
also there have been a couple of lets to deals festivals,
but doing one where we host to get land/peace/trade agreements off the colonies by puting in offical meetings for colony leaders + advisor to sit and make us aware of what of the native land has been taken, with timmings in the handout would be wicked
but also use it as a stagging point for a un style council spear headed by natives

when are you looking at hosting? I think the dryads are planning towards next easter event as that gives the most time to prepare in between

It may not look like there is many of us, but when you take into consideration how many of us snakies hide behind coloured hats a lot of the time you realise there are more than you think. An awful lot of the crew have snakie characters...though do need alcohol persuasion to come out as snakies lol.
And with Sawnee Tribe now out and about (were camped with Mill'en last event) that's a few more snakes to talk to
I will see if I can get them all to join the forums

Might I suggest a change to the usual camping bollocks?
Let us pick 8 'virtues': Cunning, Honour, Bravery, Pramtism, Greed, we can bicker about them later, and place small shrines/flags to each principle in 8 places around the site.
Groups are asked to pick one and camp by it, so the shrine lies at the centre of the camp.
And then we'll learn more about our guests.
(And also, it makes for interesting times.)

Setting up camp like that might just give the red caps a headache. I know when hosting Initiation we were quite limited on how we could arrange the camp organisation. Unless each faction with a tent tells PD beforehand which area they wanted to camp on... and that's just making PD do more work.
Might be fun to simply designate areas as those virtues anyway, though. Especially if it they were established IC as part of a ceremony to last all of Friday night...

Speaking as a redcap, I stick the tents where bill and neil tell me to.
You'd need to check it with Neil, but they had no problem doing 'by faith' for the Amun-Sa event. I'll ask him when I see him (so Wednesday then.)
In broad terms, it's a case of putting different 'blobs' on the map., and clearly marking out the areas where other things are happening.

Surely just divide the camp into five sections, one for each of the Gods, nice and simple? Everyone has to pick their favourite god.
Maybe have a different set of laws for each area? Maybe with a different judge-type character for each area?

Laws5 areas sounds cool.
Alot depends on enforcement I guess

well thats us native Eidolons, as juges.
and the tribes as inforsers, and I think that I could get muscal from the Basilisk devoteas ( maya and havac ) if it is neaded.
or we run like carnival of carnige

Rather than having it like Carnival, can I suggest we instead request that visitors follow that other, ancient tradition of ours, the one that dates backs to when we where one people.
No, not that one.
The tradition of Pranking. The gods love a good laugh, and so does any ophidian worth his pouch. We form a panel of judges to judge the best prank performed, based on factors such as how dangerous the prank was, and howfunny it was.
We offer faboulous prizes for the best ones.
We should also do the dance of the three peoples again, that's the one where we all stand united as a lump and slowly start to weave in different directions, before the Onotahka run off into a giant snake chain and the Hunapha stand round looking solid. (I've never performed with the Eucalyi, what do they do? Wander off in the opposite direction to the Onotahka with the spineyheads?)

How do you propose dealing with "Fallen"?
If included in the laws of the celeration - They would be adhered to by us.
If not included, well you can imagine.
If included, how will you police us? How would you police everyone else?
If not included what are the implications on future relations?
I know there are not many of us and some of us are attempting better ways, but even though we are tiny incomparison to the many we cause the most problems

From discussions that the Hunapha have had on our own board, to us, Fallen are a bit of a mystery as there is no such thing as a fallen of a native god. We would make laws, I suspect, that covered 'Eidolons' in general, but we do give a lot of respect to the native Eidolons of the True Gods.
Personal opinion is that it is always amusing to bind the teacher worshippers under a set of laws that they do not wish to follow, not 'silly' laws like the old ribbons and feathers, more like 'drawing a blade against an Eidolon is a crime, unless that Eidolon attacks you first'
It would at least allow for 'Fallen' and certain Native Eidolons to walk around the festival area without being instantly mobbed by 20 people.
Unsure about undead though ... since all the Gods hate them

I would disagree that all the gods hate them. I think many dislaike them but hate is such a strong word
